On Thursday, Oct. 28 at noon, the annual pumpkin launch will take place on the green outside the Administration Building, Guenther Enrollment Services Center and Siek Campus Center.

At Halloween time each fall, Engineering Science students are invited to enter the annual pumpkin catapult launch, either individually or in teams of up to four members.
The goal is to design and build a device to launch an uncooked mini pumpkin at a target placed approximately 85 feet away. The propulsion must be mechanical — no explosives or compressed gasses are allowed. No slingshot type devices are allowed and the device must be able to be launched without risk of injury to the person(s) doing the launching.
The annual event is coordinated by Dr. Linda Lim, associate professor, with the Athletics Department and Student Activities.
