Greetings!
Thanks for those who participated in the brainstorming process for Faculty Workshop Day, which will be held in person* on Wednesday March 2, 2022. We gathered several great ideas from you all!
*Pending public health concerns and faculty demand, we will consider incorporating other modalities into the event’s program (i.e., remote, hi-flex, webinar, etc.). Stay tuned!
After reviewing the survey results, we’ve determined that our theme for this year’s event will be “Moving Education Forward: Empowerment and Empathy in Times of Change.”
We’ve already received some great proposals for workshops, which include…
–Understanding content storage, access, delivery and management
–Blackboard “slimdown”: streamlining online course content
–Practical tips for working with ESL students
–Deaf/hard of hearing culture and community awareness
–Active learning in the online classroom
In addition to the proposals above, the most popular workshop ideas from the survey include…
–Video lectures made easy
–Advanced software training (i.e., TechSmith Knowmia, Camtasia, Zoom, etc.)
–Comparing in-person, remote, and fully online modalities
–A faculty panel about how we became educators
If you’re willing to adopt one of these ideas as your own or if you’ve got another idea you’d like to propose, please submit your proposal via the following Workshop Proposal Form: https://forms.office.com/r/67mTgHeYJN.
Please complete the form by Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021.
We look forward to reviewing your proposals!
