Please join the Center for Professional Excellence (CPE) in congratulating Karen DuJack, education specialist from the Dental Hygiene Department, for receiving the Leadership Development certificate.
Karen has been with the college for 20 years. In her time at Hudson Valley Community College, Karen has always been keenly interested in her professional and personal development. Karen is active on campus with both the Academic Senate and the Personal Resource Committee. Karen also serves as a Fairness and Equity Committee member for Human Resources.
In the dental hygiene department, Karen teaches in the first- and second-year dental hygiene clinical courses and serves as the department infection control coordinator. She also leads the quality assurance program for the clinical courses.
In the spring of 2020, Karen prepared a video for Global Initiatives at HVCC on infection control and barrier precautions. This video was made for both domestic and global viewing to teach proper infection control, including hand washing and preparing and breaking down a dental unit for treatment.
