Counseling and Wellness Services is pleased to share an exciting community-based opportunity. Staff at the Counseling Services Center at Maria College have invited faculty, staff, students and the community to attend their virtual event: “Why Mental Health Matters.”

Maria College is hosting “Why Mental Health Matters” via Zoom on Monday, Nov. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with guest speaker Dr. Colleen Coffey from Active Minds. (Active Minds is a nationally-recognized, non-profit organization which supports mental health awareness and education for young adults.)
Whether it’s due to the pandemic, or perhaps due to the demands of juggling work, school, family and more, you may notice your mental health taking a toll, or even overlooked altogether. This interactive virtual event will explore the importance of mental health and emotional wellness during college and beyond. Attendees will learn how to respond to a person who is emotionally struggling and learn how to seek help for themselves.
