All are welcome to attend a Patriot Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 1:30 p.m. outside of the VET-ROC where Emil Baker, NYS Director, Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, will present the awards. New York State Senator Daphne Jordan will also attend and present Senate resolutions recognizing college leaders.
Patriot Award certificates will be presented to President Roger Ramsammy, as well as Judy DiLorenzo, vice president for academic affairs; Ronalyn Wilson, assistant vice president for academic affairs; Karen Paquette, executive director of Human Resources, and Dan Wargo, VET-ROC coordinator. The Patriot Award recognizes efforts to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
Antoine Johnson, program assistant academics III in the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs who serves in the U.S. Army, nominated the administrators for the award.
VET-ROC, the Veteran Resource and Outreach Center, is located on the first floor of the Siek Campus Center. Coffee and cookies will be served.
