Faculty Mentors for Fall 2010

The Center for Effective Teaching proudly announces its slate of faculty mentors for Fall 2010. Faculty mentors are “go-to” people with specialized skills who can answer questions, walk you through software programs, provide classroom ideas and so on.

For example, Tony Podlaski has experience with most desktop-publishing software, including InDesign and Publisher; Jaime Barrett can help with Turnitin; Milt Connors has great tips for PowerPoint; Michael Such can walk you through the use of the instructor console; Kyra Garrigue is our resident video expert; and Marianne Belles is willing to help faculty with developing portfolios for discretionary promotions. Toni Howard, who teaches Teacher Preparation, has any number of ideas to share on classroom management. Mary Beth Farr is again serving as our mentor-on-the-move and will be on call for help especially with Microsoft Office programs.

Faculty mentors are not limited to the areas mentioned. To see a checklist of areas with which you may receive assistance, please check our Web page at: https://www.hvcc.edu/cet/meet_mentors.html.

The Center for Effective Teaching is grateful to our mentors for their willingness to share their experience and expertise. The mentor schedule for fall 2010 is below.
