Library adds Young Adult Literature Collection

The Dwight Marvin Library has added a young adult literature collection to its resources. The collection includes more than 100 award-winning titles available for borrowing. The collection supports courses in children’s literature, as well as other courses and objectives in Education and Social Sciences and other academic departments .

YA Lit (as it is commonly known) is recognized for addressing social issues that often relate to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. YA Lit attracts readers of all levels and is particularly accessible to new English learners. YA Lit titles are often adapted to film.

The collection is available for browsing on the first floor, adjacent to Children’s Literature, Graphic Novels, and Popular Reading. Titles may be borrowed by students and employees. The collection was acquired through support from the Library Fund held by the Foundation and the regular library materials budget. New titles will be added annually and are selected by Adjunct Librarian Tiffany Davis.
