Students and colleagues,
I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and the winter break. As we begin our spring semester, I wanted to take a moment to welcome you all to campus, whether you’re a new or returning member of our Hudson Valley community. It’s nice to see the energy of a new semester beginning, and to see the many new faces who have joined us this spring.
Students, whether you’re new or returning to campus, I wanted to start the semester with a reminder that we are all here to ensure you have a positive experience during your time here at Hudson Valley. Here are a few tips and reminders for making the most of the services we offer.
Academic support services, including tutoring and mentoring, are available to all students at no cost. If you are unsure of where to begin, the college has a new Student Success Center to guide students in need of on-campus or off-campus resources. Plus, there are plenty of clubs, teams, activities and events going on around campus to enrich your experience and help you connect with other students; visit the Campus Life page to learn more.
In addition, each month my office hosts a gathering for everyone on campus, Coffee and Conversations. Please consider attending for a chance to a chat with colleagues and friends you may not connect with often. January’s Coffee and Conversations will be taking place this Thursday, Jan. 23 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Siek Campus Center. I hope to see you there.
Have a wonderful semester, and don’t be afraid to reach out for support if you need it; we are all here to help ensure your success.
Sincerely,
Louis Coplin, Officer in Charge
