Celebrate Black History Month with the HVCC Chemistry Club

Join us in February to Celebrate Black History Month with the HVCC Chemistry Club.

Use these links to learn more about Alice Ball, an African American chemist who developed an early effective treatment for leprosy.

Then, log onto the Chemistry Club’s Blackboard site and post your thoughts in our Black History Month Discussion Board. Feel free to add links there for other places you’ve found that share information about Alice Ball.

To join the Chemistry Club’s Blackboard site, students and employees should login to Blackboard and select “Community” from the menu. Select “Browse Organization Catalog” — type “Chemistry Club” (without quotes) into the search area and select “Go.” Once you see Chemistry Club listed, select “Enroll” and submit your enrollment. Acknowledge the “you are enrolled” message by selecting “OK.” This should take you to the Blackboard community site for the HVCC Chemistry Club where you will gain access to the Zoom link.
