The Hudson Valley Community College women’s and men’s basketball programs will host their annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers games on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, against SUNY Corning. The games will take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, at the McDonough Sports Complex on the HVCC campus.
The games will also highlight the college’s annual Louis Coplin Community Day, which honors Coplin’s 35 years of service to the college, the athletics department and the community. Coplin, the former vice president for student affairs, is currently serving as officer in charge at the college.
Admission to both games is free, with suggested donation options to support the Coaches vs. Cancer cause. The event will feature giveaways, caricature artists and complimentary food for attendees.
Following the women’s game, there will be a presentation recognizing men’s basketball head coach Mike Long, who recently became the program’s all-time winningest coach with 167 career wins over his 12 years coaching at HVCC.
Donations are accepted through the NJCAA Coaches Associations’ campaign link page.
