All interested parties are invited to join the HVCC Chemistry Club on Monday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. in SCI 385 to view an American Chemical Society (ACS) virtual presentation entitled “The Chemistry of Chocolate and Desire.”
Our craving for chocolate may arise from its chemical nature like the sugar, fat, caffeine and other compounds. Furthermore, our desire may be driven by the sensory properties of chocolate, which include aroma, sweetness and texture. This ACS Webinar features Michael Tunick, assistant clinical professor of Culinary Arts & Food Science at Drexel University, who explains the science of chocolate desire and why chemistry may be responsible for our craving.
All interested HVCC students (and faculty/staff) are encouraged to stay up to date with all HVCC Chemistry Club events and happenings by enrolling in our Brightspace organization: Log into Brightspace. Choose “Discover” on the Navigation bar. Search for “HVCC Chemistry Club.” Click on the tile text. Select either the “Enroll in Course” or “Request Access” option. Once your request has been approved, you will see the HVCC Chemistry Club option in your HVCC Organizations section. Registration is not required to attend HVCC Chemistry Club meetings.
