Following an extremely successful national search yielding more than 70 applicants, I am pleased to announce that the presidential search committee has selected four finalists for on-campus interviews. Each candidate will visit campus the week of Monday, Feb. 24 through Friday, Feb. 28, to participate in interviews and open forums, including an opportunity to speak directly with members of our current student body.
I believe this to be the single most important decision the Board of Trustees is responsible for, and I encourage all students to attend one of the open forums and complete the subsequent online surveys.
Believe me when I say that student opinions matter and will be given serious consideration when the board meets to choose your next president.
The presidential finalists are:
- Michael S. Brophy, Ph.D., President, Hilbert College
- J. Kyle Dalpe, Ph.D., President, Western Nevada College
- Christopher M. Reber, Ph.D., President, Hudson County Community College
- Irene Rios, Ph.D., Ammerman Campus CEO/Executive Dean, College-wide Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs, Suffolk County Community College
Please visit the Presidential Finalists webpage for each candidate’s biography and a schedule for on-campus meetings. I strongly encourage you, the students of Hudson Valley Community College, to attend and share your perspective through the online survey that will be available after each visit.
Sincerely,
Neil Kelleher
Chair, Board of Trustees
