Tips to enhance accessibility of virtual meetings and more!

We have gained some valuable skills throughout the pandemic that we should continue to utilize as we move forward. We all have become very accustomed to the use of video conferencing, Zoom meetings and remote instruction.

We want to remind everyone of the important tools and supports available to ensure your virtual meetings are accessible to all. To that end, we have included a web link from the United States government that gives great tips to ensure the experience is accessible for everyone from invitations and registration to the posting of live-recorded content. The link to access those tips is https://www.section508.gov/.

If you have any questions about the tools to improve accessibility within the college Zoom platform, please contact Roger Pinke at r.pinke@hvcc.edu.

In addition, here is a useful link to making your Zoom meetings accessible:
https://explore.zoom.us/en/accessibility/.

For any questions regarding how to make documents accessible, please contact Annie Petersen at a.petersen@hvcc.edu.

Also, don’t forget that SUNY System Administration is covering the cost — this year only — for your coursework through Deque University. (Courses taken through Deque University will apply to certain certificates through the Center for Professional Excellence.)

Please use the following link form more information and to register for Deque University: https://www.hvcc.edu/caat/deque-university.html.

Thank you!
