Timeline changes and other details for YuJa Migration

The TechSmith Knowmia to YuJa transition is slightly ahead of schedule and on target for completion by the end of May. An updated timeline with details is available along with available training opportunities.

The immediate first step, if you have not already, is for all TechSmith Knowmia users to create a YuJa account so your Knowmia content can be associated with your YuJa account.

How to Access YuJa (2 preferred ways)

Option 1: From outside of Blackboard

  • Go to hvcc.yuja.com
  • Select the Sign In button from the login page
  • Enter your HVCC credentials

Option 2: Within a Blackboard course

  • Login to Blackboard
  • Go to a course
  • From the Course Menu, select the Add Menu Item (+) symbol, and choose Tool Link from the menu
  • Enter YuJa Video Platform in the Name: field
  • Select YuJa Video Platform from the Type: drop-down list
  • Leave the Available to Users checkbox unchecked so students cannot view it
  • Select Submit
  • Click on the newly created link to be taken to your YuJa Media Library

Updated Knowmia to YuJa Transition Details and Timeline

  • Important Note: you will not see any of your Knowmia content in YuJa at this time except for Zoom cloud recordings created after March 14. Additionally, any YouTube content within Knowmia will not be migrated to YuJa.
  • March 25: (ahead of schedule) Start of the migration into YuJa (approx. 30 days). This will bring everything into the system in an administrative folder.
  • April 25 – May 16: Folder Migration (approximately 2 weeks). This is when your video and data will be placed in your individual folders providing you have created a YuJa account to create your default folder.
  • May 23 – May 31: Quiz Migration (1 week). This is only for people with Quizzes.
  • June 30: Last day TechSmith Knowmia will exist for HVCC. After this date, all data and video content, including Zoom recordings, will be gone and there will be no way to retrieve them.
