Friday Flex For Your Mental Health

Exercise not only improves your physical health, but it can have amazing benefits for our mental health. According to HelpGuide.org, exercise can assist us in managing our depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, PTSD and trauma, more effectively, in many different ways. It can even improve our resiliency, result in better sleep, foster a higher sense of self-esteem, lead to feeling more energized, and increase our focus and memory. For the full article click here.

Each week, Counseling and Wellness Services will provide a post with information about ways to move your mental health. Resources and videos are from various YouTube exercise channels and the John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation, whose purpose is to “Integrate salutogenic approaches, such as exercise, nutrition and mind-body practices, into treating mental illness and promoting mental wellness.”

Week 10
Ferly Prado was born in São Paulo, Brazil, where she began dancing and moved to the United States at age 12 to study at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. As a professional dancer, Ferly has had the privilege to work with world renowned artists and companies like Beyoncé, Tina Turner, and Cher; and award shows such as the American Music Awards, the Billboard Awards, the Latin Billboard Awards, the VMAs, and ACMAs.
