On May 4, the New York Independent System Operator welcomed students in HVCC’s Photovoltaic Systems Installation and Maintenance class to its headquarters in Rensselaer. NYISO controls the entire electrical grid in New York State. Class members got a first-hand look at how NYISO achieves its vision “to build the cleanest, most reliable electric system in the nation” and manages this difficult task in a reliable, secure and sustainable way. Everyone gained a new appreciation for our valuable electrons!
