The men’s soccer team (3-5-1) defeated Clinton Community College, 2-0, on Saturday.
The first half was evenly dominated by both teams with the Vikings taking the lead on a Steve Zwoboda (Cairo Durham/Cairo) goal with 25:33 remaining in the first half. The Vikings kept the lead into the second half.
After the halftime break, Hudson Valley struck again with a goal by Blake Smith (Tamarac/Brunswick). The score gave the Vikings a 2-0 lead with 39:24 to go in the contest. Hudson Valley would ward off the Cougars’ scoring attempts and collect the 2-0 win.
The men will play Clinton Community College again on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. in Plattsburgh.
