What to do if you test positive for COVID-19

With the colder weather upon us, more activities are moving indoors and COVID-19 numbers may soon be on the rise. Health services would like to remind everyone on campus what you  should do in the event you test positive for COVID-19 or develop symptoms:

  • Stay home. Do not come to campus.
  • Call Health Services at (518) 629-7468. You may be prompted to leave a confidential voicemail (wait for the pause). Please speak slowly and clearly leaving your name, H00# (student ID) or date of birth, and a phone number to call you back. You may also email us this information at healthservice@hvcc.edu.
  • Review the college’s guidance for COVID 19 at https://www.hvcc.edu/covid19/guidance-symptoms-exposure.html.

Handwashing and covering your cough (with your elbow) are the best measures to prevent the spread of any germs.

The Rensselaer County Health Department continues to offer COVID-19 vaccines and boosters every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. in McDonough Athletic Complex Lobby.

Please remember that you must be cleared to return to campus if you are sick. Any questions, please reach out to us.

Stay healthy and well!
