Are you giving electronic gifts for Christmas this year? Help the environment by including rechargeable batteries — and maybe even the recharger — as part of the gift. Keep disposable batteries and the harmful materials they contain out of the solid waste stream. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, about 40 percent of all battery sales occur during the holiday season.
