Registration Begins Soon for Winter/Spring Community Education Courses

 

Registration begins soon for spring and winter programs offered through the college’s Office of Community and Professional Education.

Upcoming courses designed for professional development and personal growth span a wide range of activities, from fitness and personal enrichment to songwriting and programs for young people.

Some of the varied new courses offered this winter include: ‘Comics and the Visual Narrative,’ ‘Making Paper Filigree Flowers,’ ‘Veterinary Assistant Certificate Program,’ ‘Introduction to Short Fiction,’ ‘Intermediate Quickbooks,’ ‘Makeup and Skincare for Beginners,’ ‘FitMom Prenatal Workout,’ ‘Belly Dancing is for Everybody’ and ‘Interval Training System Bootcamp.’

A new series of courses in personal enrichment – ‘Creating the Life I Want: Strategies to Create the Life You Want to Live,’ ‘A Mindfulness-Based Approach to Stress Reduction’ and ‘How to Increase Contentment,’ – also will be offered for the first time this winter.

Programs in cooking, writing, drawing, paper crafts, photography, financial planning, gardening, physical fitness and driver education are just a few of the other popular courses also being offered this year.

The college also will be offering more than 50 classes, day trips, tours and activities through its popular Center for Creative Retirement. More information about those activities also may be found at www.hvcc.edu/communityed/spring.

Registration begins Jan. 17 for all winter and spring credit-free courses, except for those offered through the college’s Center for Creative Retirement. Registration for those courses will begin Feb. 1.
