Your students could win $1,500 as well as the opportunity to meet Governor Andrew Cuomo and members of the state Supreme Court by entering the David R. Garfinkel Essay Contest, sponsored by the Historical Society of the Courts of New York State.
All students enrolled in SUNY/CUNY two-year colleges from all academic disciplines are invited to submit an essay, which this year deals with the legal legacy of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. Prior winners have come from colleges all across the state. First prize is $1,500 and second prize is $1,000.
The inaugural winner of the contest was one of our own CRJ students – Elijah Fagan-Solis!
