Ian LaChance, an assistant registrar here at Hudson Valley, earned high praise in a theater review by Matthew G. Morros in The Daily Gazette on Tuesday.
Moross reviewed David Auburn’s 2001 Pulitzer Prize-winning “Proof,” which he described as a “modern mathematical masterstroke,” adding “the production staged by director Aaron Holbritter at Albany Civic Theater this month is showing it off to its best advantage.”
LaChance portrays Hal, described as a “a geeky grad student.” Morros writes: “But the revelation here is the work of LaChance. Well known by area audiences with his mastery of comedy and farce, LaChance sets his funny mask aside and turns in an impeccably well-modulated, controlled and ultimately moving performance.”
Performances of “Proof” continue through Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Albany Civic Theater, 235 Second Ave., Albany. Call 462-1297 or visit www.albanycivictheater.org for more information.
