The SUNY Faculty Advisory Council On Teaching and Technology (FACT2) charged a task group in May 2023 to research and explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be optimized for teaching and learning.
The committee’s first goal was to produce a preliminary report for faculty and instructional support specialists. This report explores the potential benefits and challenges associated with AI-based technologies and serves as a guide to add insight and value to those who read it.
In addition, the group would like to capture the experience of faculty who are using AI tools in their classes, including any concerns they may have. Here is a link for the Faculty AI Survey. We are asked to please complete the survey before the end of the fall semester.
Lastly, the group would like to capture the ways in which campuses are helping to prepare their faculty for the ways in which AI can be used in the classroom, either by students or by faculty. We have been asked to share this link for the Campus Leaders AI Survey with the appropriate person or people on our campus who can respond before the end of the fall semester.
