College’s Military Friendly Status Recognized

At its March meeting, the Rensselaer County Legislature passed a resolution in recognition that Hudson Valley Community College was named a 2011 Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine.

A framed copy of the signed resolution will be presented to the college at the Legislature’s meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 12 in Legislative Chambers, located on the third floor of the Rensselaer County Office Building on Seventh Avenue in Troy.

All are welcome to attend this public meeting. Ian LaChance, assistant registrar for registration, will accept the resolution on behalf of the college. Part of Ian’s job is to oversee certifications for those students using Veterans Affairs benefits and makes eligible students aware of other benefits for which they may qualify.
