The baseball team (10-11) took both games of a doubleheader over Jefferson Community College (2-16), 3-2 and 9-5 on Sunday afternoon.
Nick Papas (Maple Hill/Castleton) led the Vikings in game one, going 1-2 at the plate with an RBI. In game two, Jake DePietro’s (Kingston/Kingston) big game at the plate helped pace Hudson Valley to a win. DePietro went 3-4 with a two-run homerun and four RBIs. Chris Massaroni (Voorheesville/Voorheesville) was 2-4 with two RBIs, and Tyler Young (Shaker/Latham) also chipped in two hits in the victory.
The two road wins capped off a 4-0 weekend for the Vikings. The team is just one game shy of pulling to .500.
The men haven’t lost since leaving South Carolina from their spring trip and look to continue the streak with games at Schenectady County Community College on Tuesday starting at 2 p.m.
