Tara Fracalossi, a fine arts faculty member and Teaching Gallery director, has a new installation of 200 mounted photographs in the exhibition “A Field Guide to Getting Lost” at Pelavin Gallery in New York. The exhibition runs through the summer. More information can be found at www.pelavingallery.com.
Both Fracalossi and Thomas Lail, associate professor in fine arts, are included in the exhibition, “Transport,” that will run July 8 – Aug. 26 at Galeria Cypriana Majernika in Bratislava, Slovakia. The gallery is the oldest exhibition space for contemporary art in Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic. The exhibition includes work by Lee Ranaldo and Leah Singer, who exhibited in the college’s Teaching Gallery in 2009.
Lail’s work will be included in a one-day only sculpture exhibition Saturday, Aug. 20 on the grounds of Neversink Farm, an organic farm in Claryville, NY that hosts exhibitions and gourmet dinners.
Lail also can be heard on radio station WGXC, when his experimental music duo “soundBarn” appears as Airtime Visiting Artists on Saturday, June 25 at 4 p.m. See wgxc.org for more information.
Also this summer, “soundBarn” celebrates the release of its first CD, “Valentine,” on Tape Drift Records. The CD features cover images and a tri-fold insert by Fracalossi.
