Brightspace uses a Continuous Delivery model for monthly updates, some of the changes released in June 2025 have an impact on faculty use. Below are the changes that you may see. Full release notes can be found on the Brightspace Community June 2025 Release Notes page. 

Announcements – Change to the Image Layout

The Slim Announcements widget layout now displays images above associated text instead of a side-by-side format when the widget is placed in a narrow panel layout. This change ensures that both the image and text excerpt expand to the full width of the widget. Previously, the side-by-side layout could render the image too small and the text excerpt too narrow, especially on homepages with limited width. The updated format improves readability.
