David Belsky, press officer and director of new media for the State University of New York, has two requests related to SUNY’s response to Tropical Storm Irene.
First: He would like to compile and highlight the best of any compelling stories from SUNY campuses — saving a life, helping others, building a feeling of community, serving as a shelter — any story worth telling.
Second: He would like to thank the members of the SUNY family for their efforts throughout the Hurricane. Whether you had police deployed to help other communities, students volunteering to clear debris, staff staying late to man an emergency operations center –- anyone who went above and beyond is someone SUNY is looking to thank. Please send David a list of names and addresses (e-mail is fine if you cannot attain a mailing address) so that we can send them a message of gratitude.
