My, how time flies when you’re having fun. Believe it or not, Hudson Valley Community College will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2013!
To help mark this momentous occasion, the college will be holding a number of special events throughout the 2013 calendar year highlighting the accomplishments of the institution and showcasing its truly remarkable students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees.
I have been asked to chair the 60th Anniversary Celebration Steering Committee, which will coordinate the planning and organization of the many events occurring during this year-long celebration. In addition, there will be a number of subcommittees reporting to the Steering Committee that will be charged with developing, planning and implementing the specific academic, cultural, alumni, student and retiree activities and events to be held throughout the year.
I encourage everyone to be a part of this celebration. If you would like to be a member of one of the subcommittees or have any suggestions on events or activities you would like to see held, please do not hesitate to let me know, either by e-mail (m.green@hvcc.edu) or phone (629-4554), or contact Joan Russo (j.russo@hvcc.edu, 629-4557).
The college has changed a great deal and accomplished much over the past 60 years, and I look forward to all of us being able to celebrate our proud history.
