The women’s soccer team (1-2-1) won its first game of the season over SUNY Delhi (0-6), 5-1, on Monday afternoon.
The Vikings took a 3-0 lead into halftime and didn’t look back. Meghan Crowe (Ausable Valley/Wilmington) led the Vikings with two goals and one assist, while Shana Barry (Ichabod Crane/Nassau) added one goal and two assists. Kaitlyn Sasso (Mohonasen/Rotterdam) and Jessica Catricala (Averill Park/Wynantskill) also chipped in one goal apiece in the victory. Jacqueline Howe (New Lebanon/Stephentown) had a solid day in the goal recording eight saves allowing only one goal on a penalty kick.
The women host Herkimer County Community College this Saturday at noon.
