The Hudsonian, The Official Student Newspaper of Hudson Valley Community College, placed in the top 10 for “Best in Show” amongst college newspapers from across the nation at last week’s National College Media Convention held in Orlando, Florida.
There were 359 entries for “Best in Show” in several categories this year. The Hudsonian’s top 10 recognition was in the category for broadsheet papers from two-year schools.
The National College Media Convention is the largest gathering of college journalists and advisers in the world. The Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers partner to host the convention each year with typical attendance of more than 2,300 delegates.
The Hudsonian sent four student editors and its two advisers to the convention last week where they attended workshops and seminars focused on collegiate news reporting and management.
