Entry-Level PV Installer Course Offered by WDI Starting in February

Hudson Valley Community College’s Workforce Development Institute will offer a completely online entry-level course for those interested in beginning their training as certified photovoltaic solar panel installers beginning next month.

The new PV Entry Level Photovoltaics (Solar Power) Online course helps individuals from around the country prepare for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Entry Level Exam.

The eight-week course includes access to videos of the lab portions of the college’s PV-Entry Level course as part of a fully integrated online course led by a NABCEP-certified instructor. Students are guided through 16 separate modules covering all aspects of photovoltaic theory and design as it applies to the NABECP Entry Level exam. Students will receive a certificate of successful completion, which can be presented to NABCEP when applying to take the entry level exam.

The first eight-week section of PV-Entry Level Online begins Feb. 6, 2012 and runs through March 31.

The college’s Workforce Development Institute also offers a stackable curriculum of classroom-based solar panel installation courses, including PV-Entry Level Photovoltaics (Solar Power) Exam Preparation and PV-Advanced (Photovoltaic-Solar) Electric Systems.
