Jennifer Acker, senior clerk in the Interlibrary Loan Unit of Marvin Library, has been named an IDS Project mentor. Ms. Acker will receive additional training in interlibrary loan (ILL) systems and workflow and will visit other libraries that are new members to the IDS Project to advise them on best practices.
The IDS Project (http://www.idsproject.org) is a resource sharing consortium of public and private academic libraries across the State of New York. Member libraries are committed to rapid fill of interlibrary loan requests and effective implementation of new technologies.
Ms. Acker is supervised by Associate Professor Sue Grayson, circulation and interlibrary loan librarian. Ms. Acker and Ms. Grayson already have visited Fulton Montomery Community College and Siena College to advise their interlibrary loan departments on implementation of ILL systems. The Marvin Library joined the IDS Project in 2008.
