The men’s bowling team finished first at the Region III Championships in Utica on Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings were down by more than 400 pins after three games, but fought their way back and won by more than 350 pins shooting a total of 9519.
Ryan Sickler (Guilderland/Guilderland) won the singles title with a 959 series and Michael Hartmann (Coxsackie-Athens/Coxsackie) finished second with a 908 total. Both Sicker and Hartmann earned All-Region honors, and Sickler was also named the MVP of the Regional Championships. Victoria Jansen (Kingston/Kingston) earned All-Region honors finishing second on the women’s side with a 1552 total. She also teamed up with Candace Dawson (Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk/Ravena) in doubles to finish second with a 1399 total.
The bowling team heads to the National Junior College Championships on Thursday, March 1 in Buffalo.
