Curriculum Committee Sets Agenda

 

Following is the agenda set for the Curriculum Committee meeting to be held Monday, March 5 at 2 p.m. in BTC Meeting Room 1.  All are welcome to attend.

The next deadline for submission of curriculum proposals is March  26.

3.1 Change in Program Title – Animal Advocacy Certificate – submitted by Ann Geisendorfer
This proposal requests a change in program title from Animal Advocacy Certificate Program to Animal Policy and Law.

3.2 Change in Course Title and Course Description – Animal Advocacy Seminar I CRJS 135 – submitted by Ann Geisendorfer
This proposal requests a title from Animal Advocacy Seminar I to Animal Policy Seminar I and a change in course description.

3.3 Change in Course Title and Course Description – Animal Advocacy Seminar II CRJS 136 – submitted by Ann Geisendorfer
This proposal requests a title from Animal Advocacy Seminar II to Animal Policy Seminar II and a change in course description.

3.4 Change in Course Title and Course Description – Animal Advocacy Seminar III CRJS 137 – submitted by Ann Geisendorfer|
This proposal requests a title from Animal Advocacy Seminar III to Animal Policy Seminar III and a change in course description.

This proposal requests a title from Criminal Justice and the Community to Policing.

This proposal requests a title from Animal Advocacy – Lobbying and Legislation to Lobbying and Legislation for Animal Policy.  The proposal also includes a change in course description.

3.7 Change in Degree Requirements – Forensic Science Studies Program – submitted by Ann Geisendorfer
This proposal requests a change in Forensic Science Studies Program free elective from 3 credits to 3-4 credits.

3.8 New course MATH 095 Basic Mathematics with Study Skills – submitted by Sue Kutryb
This new course combines the material from MATH 085 and MATH 090 into one new course MATH 095.

3.9 Change in prerequisite for MATH 178 Honors Mathematical Reasoning and Applications – submitted by Sue Kutryb
The addition of a pre-requisite will clearly state the level of math needed to enter the
course.

3.10 Change in co-requisite for ENGR 225 Electric Circuits – submitted by Sue Kutryb
The change in co-requisite allows students to take MATH 220 prior or at the same time as ENGR 225.

3.11 Change in degree requirement for Engineering Science A.S. – submitted by Sue Kutryb
Engineering Science students no longer need receive a “B or higher” in CHEM 110.  In addition, two more courses have been added to the list of possible engineering course electives: MATH 200 and PHYS 252.

3.12 Deactivation of the Automotive Technical Services- General Motors AOS Program – submitted by Anthony Kossmann
This program will no longer be offered.

3.13 Change in prerequisite for CNST 120 Architectural Drawing I – submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante
CIVL 103 Visualization II is added as a prerequisite for CNST 120 Architectural Drawing I to replace the prerequisite CIVL 110 Engineering Graphics for students in the Architectural Technology degree program.  However, CIVL 110 continues to be a prerequisite for CNST 120 as it is required for student in the proposed Architecture Certificate program.

3.14 Change in prerequisite for CIVL 220 Architectural Graphics – submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante
CIVL 103 Visualization II is added to the prerequisites for CIVL 220 Architectural Graphics

3.15 Change in pre or co-requisite for CIVL 222 Building Construction – submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante
Visualization II is being added as a pre- or co requisite for CIVL 222 Building Construction as it is necessary for students to take before or concurrently with CIVL 222.

3.16  Change in degree requirements for the Architectural Technology A.A.S. Degree – submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante
The changes in degree requirements for the Architectural Technology AAS Degree Program include the addition of new courses, changed courses, and courses removed.  The changes have been designed to ease transfer to four year institutions.

3.17 Introduction of New Certificate Program in Architecture – submitted by Dr. Christine LaPlante
The new Architecture Certificate Program has been developed to enhance employment opportunities for students within the field of Architecture Technology.  Additionally, the program aids student retention within the Architectural Technology A. A. S. program.
