Write All Night Is Tonight!

“It-s 10:00 p.m. Do you know where your children are?”

By The Learning Centers

Are you familiar with that television line that typically appears before the late news? Most likely, you are. According to the Website of Barry Popick, who contributes his research to the Oxford English Dictionary, that question was first posed by a New York City television station in 1969 and has been used extensively throughout the country ever since.

Most likely, however, you aren-t familiar with the following answer: “My children are in the library.”

Obviously, most public libraries are closed by 10 p.m., and typically, the Marvin Library on the Hudson Valley Community College campus closes at that hour as well.

However, tonight, the Learning Centers will be keeping the building open for two additional hours – until midnight – so students can get extra help in the Computer Learning Center on the lower level.

Once again this semester, the Learning Centers will sponsor “Write All Night,” a special initiative to help students complete those major projects that are usually due near the end of the term. So instead of laboring alone on their computers at home, students can work with the writing specialists who will be available to offer guidance and encouragement.

And that-s not all. The Learning Centers will also provide refreshments.

Once again this semester, the Learning Centers will sponsor “Write All Night” tonight!
