The softball team (2-0) defeated SUNY-Delhi (0-2), 11-6 and 17-9, in a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.
In game one, Gabriella Daniels (Troy/Troy) and Aimee Lefebvre (Waterford/Waterford) each had three hits and combined for six RBIs. Meghan Roullier (Columbia/Wynantskill) added two hits and two RBIs, and Shaylah Morris (Berlin/Berlin) got the win on the mound in the opener. In the second game, Daniels continued where she left off tallying four hits and four RBIs. Kate Brown (Colonie/Colonie) and Sarah Patzwahl (Chatham/Canaan) each recorded four hits and Morris came in in relief to earn the save.
The softball team hosts Columbia-Greene Community College on Thursday, April 5 at 3 p.m.
