Did you know that you can e-mail your students directly from the grade center in Blackboard?
You might do this when you are grading if some students receive a high grade you would like to congratulate them on or a low grade you would like to discuss with them. Simply select the students you would like to e-mail and select the e-mail link. All Students are blind carbon copied so cannot see who else is on the list.
