The Hudson Valley Community College softball team (7-6) defeated Broome Community College (6-17), 16-8, on Sunday afternoon, and game two was postponed because of rain.
Sarah Patzwahl (Chatham/Canaan) led the Vikings with four hits, including a three-run homerun and four RBIs. Gabriella Daniels (Troy/Troy) and Kayley O’Brien (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) added three hits each, and Shayla Morris (Berlin/Berlin) got the win on the mound.
The softball team travels to Clinton Community College on Tuesday, April 24, for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
