Faculty and staff input is sought for nominations for next year’s Chancellor’s Award.
The Chancellor’s Award is the highest recognition awarded to faculty and staff at the colleges in the State University of New York system. Hudson Valley is among the leading community colleges with people who have earned the recognition. The nomination process begins now for the awards for Spring 2013.
The areas of recognition are divided into three areas that include Faculty awards, Non-Teaching Professional awards and Classified Staff awards. For Faculty we are allowed to recommend individuals for Excellence in Teaching, Excellence in Faculty Service, Excellence in Librarianship and Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities. For Non-teaching individuals there is the Excellence in Professional Service Award and for secretaries and clerical workers there is the Excellence in Classified Service.
Basic criteria for each award can be found at this link.
As the result of a new interpretation of the guidelines at the state level, we have been recommended to recognize Department Chairpersons with the Faculty Service Award in the future.
You are encouraged to recommend individuals who have had a positive impact here at Hudson Valley Community College. The nomination form is available here or by contacting Don Frament (d.frament@hvcc.edu) or calling ext. 7569. Nominators will be asked to assist the nominee during the process.
Sincerely,
Don Frament
Chancellor’s Award Committee Chairperson
