On Tuesday, HVCC President Drew Matonak joined education officials from around the state to address Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s “new” New York Education Reform Commission. Speakers identified problems in the state’s public schools, colleges and universities, as well as suggested solutions.
Tuesday’s hearing in Albany was the first of 10 planned around the state. The Commission, including Education Department Commissioner John King and SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher, will present its recommendations for revamping the state’s education system to the Governor in December.
