The Instructional Resources Committee, (IRC), a standing-committee of the Academic Senate, is seeking two members of our teaching faculty to work with us during this academic year. The Committee is made up of faculty along with representatives from all constituents on the campus who contribute to classroom teaching and learning. (Department Chairs, Distance and Online Learning, ITS, Physical Plant, Media Equipment/Instructor Console, Learning Commons/Instructional Media Center , and others).
The current initiatives of the Committee include an assessment of classroom use of interactive ‘clickers’, the evolution of e-books, i-books and digital learning materials among higher education publishers, enhanced instructional technologies likely to be installed in the new Science Center, and the handling of day-to-day classroom issues that are brought to the attention of the committee membership.
There are presently two vacant faculty positions on our committee, and we are inviting any interested faculty member to join us in what we believe is our important work. Adjunct faculty are most encouraged to participate.
More information about the IRC (or any of the standing committees of the Academic Senate) can be found on the “Academic Senate” web site found on to the ‘My Hudson Valley’ Portal.
