On November 10, 2012, Broome Community College will host a National Issues Forum, “Shaping Our Future — How Should Higher Education Help Us Create the Society We Want?” The results from this forum and other forums across the United States will be built into a report by the Kettering Foundation of Dayton, Ohio to be circulated throughout the higher education community.
At the end of the forum, a special training will take place for students to lead such forums. We hope to replicate this forum at Hudson Valley Community College in the spring. This training in public deliberation also will help us to work on other issues of importance to our community in the future.
