Wojtaszek rolls perfect game as men’s bowling wins Hawk Invitational; women finish third

 

The men’s bowling team won the Hawk Invitational in Utica on Sunday afternoon. The men held only an 8-pin advantage over Cayuga to win the tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The women finished third and put on a very strong performance across the board.

Individually, Craig Wojtaszek (Averill Park/Averill Park) bowled a perfect, 300 game for the first time in his career. Michael Hartmann (Coxsackie-Athens/Earlton) led the team throughout the entire day, with a 919 in doubles followed by a 932 in singles, which earned him third overall for All-Events.

For the women, Chelsea Smith (Hoosic Valley/Melrose) and Jennifer Lynch (Colonie/Utica) teamed up for third place in doubles competition. Smith also won the singles competition with a score of 797 for four games. Her performance in singles earned her third place overall for All-Events.

The men’s and women’s bowling teams host the Hudson Valley Invitational on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.
