Women’s Bowling Takes Columbia-Greene Invitational; Men Finish Third

 

The women’s bowling team finished first at the Columbia-Greene Invitational on Wednesday, edging out Mohawk Valley, 2817-2768. The win moves the women into a tie for first place in the conference with Mohawk Valley. The men were shorthanded with only five bowlers, but managed to come from behind in sixth place to finish in third.

Megan Rzeszuto (Colonie/Schenectady) led the women’s team with a 210-205-218, for a 633 triple. Also putting in strong performances for the Vikings were Teagan Pollock (Catholic Central/Troy) with a 194-182-250, for a 626 series, and Elizabeth Pratt (Lansingburgh/Troy) with a 184-225-18, for a 591 series.

High series for the men went to Brendon O’Donnell (Averill Park/Poestenkill) with games of 238-221-194, for a 653 series. Michael Kincy (Oak Harbor/Oak Harbor, WA) had a 649 series (225-255-169), and Michael Hartmann (Coxsackie-Athens/Earlton) finished with a 194-243-194, for a 631 series.

The men’s and women’s bowling teams head to Wappinger Falls on Saturday, Jan. 26, for the Blue & Orange Classic beginning at 9 a.m.
