Hockey’s Season Comes to End at Nationals

 

The #3 Hudson Valley Community College men’s hockey team (12-7) lost to #2 Williston State College (17-14), 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the National Tournament in Rochester.

The Vikings fell behind early and never recovered. William Huber (Arlington/Hopewell) scored the Vikings lone goal on a power-play, assisted by James Murphy (Comsewogue, Long Island) in the first period. The Vikings trailed 6-1 after the first, with no scoring from either team in the second or third. Murphy was also named to the All-Tournament team.

Williston defeated #1 Monroe Community College, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon in the Championship game.
