CDL Class A Tractor-Trailer License Training offered through WDI

The Workforce Development Institute, in partnership with All Star Driving School, now offers CDL Class A Tractor-Trailer License Training. This 48-hour training program is designed to accommodate individuals with little or no experience.  The course includes 12 hours in the classroom and 36 hours of on-the-road training, focusing on the NYS CDL Exam and industry requirements.

The CDL Class A Tractor-Trailer License qualifies drivers for 26,001 lbs. or more Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and for Tow trailer of GVWR 10,001 lbs. or more.

Includes both CLASSROOM and ON-THE-ROAD training!

  •   Doubles and Triples
  •   DOT Rules & Regulations

  •   Parking, backing, &   docking
  •   Changing road conditions
  •   Review of CDL Tests
  •   Instructional videotapes
Road Training Lessons Cover:

  •   Pre-trip inspection
  •   Inside cab inspection
  •   Drop and hook-up of trailer
  •   Up and down shifting
  •   Double clutching
  •   Shifting all ranges
  •   Shifting by engine tachometer
  •   Vehicle turning procedures
  •   Tracking of various lengths of trailers
  •   Straight backing
  •   Parallel parking
  •   Blindside backing and docking
  •   City & Interstate driving
  •   Safety procedures
