On Saturday June 1, the Kiwanis Clubs of Rensselaer County are hosting a golf tournament at the Burden Lake County Club in Averill Park. A day of fun, golf and prizes will begin at 11 a.m. with sign-in and optional putting contest, followed by lunch at noon.
Registration is $100/golfer including 18 holes of golf with cart (1 p.m. shot gun start) and a dinner buffet with beverages at 6 p.m. This is a fundraising event. Many of the prizes have been donated by community businesses and organizations. Scheduled event contests include closest to the pin, longest drive, hole in one, etc.
Please consider participating on June 1 as a golfer and invite other family members, neighbors and friends to join you for dinner at 6 p.m. Those arriving for dinner only will be charged $25, which includes all food, beer, wine, soda, tax and tip.
The Van Rensselaer Division of Kiwanis is comprised of clubs located in cities, towns and villages throughout Rensselaer County including Castleton, Schodack, East Greenbush, Hoosick Falls, North Greenbush, Rensselaer, Sand Lake and Troy.
Kiwanis is a community organization of volunteers dedicated to providing assistance to those in need — especially children — through community service projects and fund raising activities. Kiwanis has maintained a strong presence in our educational system for years, supporting Circle K Clubs in colleges, Key Clubs in high schools, builder’s clubs in middle schools, and K Kids in elementary schools. These programs are dedicated to instilling civic /community awareness and responsibility, and developing leadership qualities and interpersonal skills within young people.
