The blanket requirement for hard hats and safety glasses throughout the new Science Center has been lifted.
Hard hats still should be worn if there is a need to be in a room with overhead work and safety glasses still should be worn if there is a need to be in a room with cutting or grinding activities. Employees should continue to exercise caution and maintain awareness as they walk through the building and they should only enter areas they need to be in to do their jobs.
Only employees with a business need to be in the building should enter the new Science Center. Departments such as IT, ITS, Public Safety, Physical Plant, Administration, and Biology, Chemistry and Physics may need to be in the building to complete work, unpack or get ready for classes.
Employees who are simply interested in getting a look at the new building need to wait a couple weeks longer until the construction work and unpacking is wrapped up.
