Most of us have a family member who is a veteran or some of us have a current family member now serving in the military. In honor of the generations of men and women who serve our country, the Armed Forces Club is sponsoring the “Commemorative Flag Project.”
We invite you to honor your Veteran, family member, friend, colleague, classmate or neighbor by making a flag that will be displayed in the Marvin Library during the “Pride of our Nation, Pride of our College” event.
I will supply you with a 14 x 9 inch piece of material which you’ll decorate anyway you wish to honor the Veteran and their service. The commemorative flag can be as simple as writing the name of the person you would like to honor or it can be more elaborate. Be creative!
I have 25 to give away. First Come, First Serve!
Please return your finished flag to me by Nov. 1 so we may display with the other items. A formal dedication will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. during the opening event for “Pride of our Nation, Pride of our College.”
